Notice and inspections

Under Michigan's Public Act 174 of 2013, MISS DIG 811 must receive a locate request before excavation. The law sets the notice at no less than three business days (72 hours) and no more than 14 calendar days before digging; a ticket stays valid for 21 days, or 180 days for long projects. Utility inspections, where required, are arranged before backfilling.
