This notice explains what Blackstone Utilities collects through this website and by phone, why, how long it is kept, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information or share it with other companies for advertising.
Who we are
BLACKSTONE UTILITIES LLC runs this website and the office that answers quote requests. You can reach us by phone at +1 (224) 202 4000 or by email at contact@blackstoneutilities.com.
What you send us through the quote form
When you send the quote form, we store what you type: your name, phone number, email address, the state and, if you give it, the city of the work, the service you chose and your description of the work, together with your agreement that we may contact you about the request. We also store the time of the request, the page it was sent from, and keyed hashes of your network address and browser, which cannot be turned back into the address. Your description of the work is stored encrypted.
Phone calls
When you call us, or we call you about a request, staff note the phone number, the time, how long the call lasted and its outcome, and type short notes about the work in our office system. These notes are stored encrypted. Calls are not recorded.
Website statistics
The website keeps its own visit statistics, on its own server, to see which pages and services people look at and how they get in touch. For each page view, each click on a "Call us" or "Request a quote" button and each quote request, it records the time, the page and the button used. It also records your network (IP) address, your browser's user-agent text and the device type, operating system and browser read from it, the address of the page that sent you here, any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source or a Google Ads click ID), the first page of your visit and the last few pages you opened on this site. The approximate state and city of the network address are looked up in a location database kept on our server.
The first page of your visit, where it came from and the recent pages are kept in your browser's session storage for that tab only, and are deleted when you close the tab. This is not a cookie. No analytics or advertising company receives these statistics, and we do not use them to identify you, build a profile or follow you to other websites.
We use them to understand how the website is used, to count calls and quote requests by page, and to keep out automated traffic. Visits from known search engine and AI crawlers, from our own office network and from suspicious automated clients are labeled as such and left out of the figures.
The full network address and the user-agent text are deleted after 90 days. Daily and hourly totals that contain neither are kept.
Cookies and your privacy choices
This website sets no cookies of its own and, while no optional service is switched on, it loads nothing from other companies.
We may switch on an optional service from another company, such as an analytics, advertising, video or map service. If we do, a banner asks you first. The service runs only if you accept it, your answer is kept in one cookie on your device, and you can change it at any time with "Privacy choices" at the bottom of every page. The services switched on today, if any, are listed below.
No optional service is switched on today, so there is nothing to choose and no cookie is set.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as your request to opt out. The website then records no statistics about your visit, keeps no visit or campaign details with a quote request, and keeps every optional service switched off.
How we use your information
We use your details to answer your request, to contact you by phone or email about it, and, if you hire us, to prepare a quote and carry out and record the work. We do not send text messages, and the form has no text-message option. We use the website statistics as described above.
Who can see your information
Your information is stored on the server that runs this website, which we rent from a hosting company, and can be read only by authorized office staff through a protected administration area that needs a password and a second sign-in step.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with other companies for advertising, targeted advertising or profiling. We disclose it only when the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Requests are kept for 24 months. After that, a request that did not lead to a customer record, a quote or a job has its personal details removed (name, phone, email, address and the description of the work); the date, the service and the state are kept for counting. A request that led to a quote or a job is kept with that business record.
Website statistics keep the full network address and browser text for 90 days, as described above. Call notes are kept with the request or customer record they belong to.
Your rights
Depending on the state you live in, the law may give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of its sale, of targeted advertising and of profiling. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising or profiling. You can ask us to do any of the others by contacting us as shown below. We may need to confirm that a request comes from you before we act on it.
